What to wear and what to bring

We are anywhere from 5000'-5250' in elevation and the humidity is low.  That said, here is what to wear and what to bring.
  • Clothing - May can be warm, but out can also get cold. Nights will most likely be chilly. See the itinerary and dress for a mix of outdoor activities during the day and walking around town at night. Also check the 10-day forecast before you come. You can't go wrong bringing a fleece or whatever else keeps you warm on the plane. Note the itinerary when we go to Mishawaka. It's directly on the river and we requested to sit outside. The snowmelt water can make it a bit nippy, but again, a fleece should work.
  • Shoes - Specifically the hikes and walks. If you are packing light, a pair of sneakers is fine. On this trip, we will not do any strenuous hikes so hiking shoes are not necessary. The hike around Gateway Natural Area is flat (unless someone wants to hike part of the way to the Summit - that's optional). The walk alone the Poudre river is a paved trail with occasional jaunts to a sandy riverbank. Other shoes are basically what you wear too Disney, for walking around town.
  • We will have Walmart Equate brand 70SPF sunscreen.  If you need something different (especially for your face, cause that shit burns if it gets in your eyes like there is no tomorrow), I highly encourage you to bring sunscreen. Think Florida, but a mile closer to the sun.
  • You'll need to bring a hairdryer if you use one. I can always get a $20 Revlon hair dryer from Walmart but I'm pretty sure no one would use it.  But if it helps with packing light, I can get one.
  • Water bottles - will be provided - the City water is amazingly clean and tasty so basically tap water works. You have to stay hydrated. Read hydration guides for you gender and body type (then add 25%). If you can start to hydrate the day before you come, that will stave off any altitude sickness.
  • Body lotion - We will provide Lubriderm body lotion.
